A: Extreme temperatures have a significant impact on belt material performance:
1. Extremely Cold Environments (below -20°C):
• Material Embrittlement: Ordinary nylon and plastic buckles become brittle, reducing their impact resistance. Choose products that claim to be suitable for low-temperature environments, or prioritize metal buckles.
• Operational Malfunction: Velcro adhesion decreases, making it difficult to operate delicate buckles when wearing thick gloves. Cobra buckles, due to their large operating surface, are advantageous in this situation, but practice operating them while wearing gloves is necessary beforehand.
• Body Contact: The inside of the belt should be insulated from the body with clothing to prevent cold burns.
2. Extremely Hot/Sun Exposure Environments:
• UV Aging: Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light can reduce the strength and cause nylon to fade. Choose dark-colored products or those with a UV-protective coating (some brands will specify this).

The finished belt is incredibly lightweight and has near-absolute tear resistance while remaining soft. The downside is its extremely high price and potentially lower surface abrasion resistance compared to high-D nylon.
2. Cordura:
• Essence: Not a new material, but a post-processing technique. After dyeing, the nylon is baked at high temperature.
• Result: The color penetrates to the fiber core, resulting in colorfastness (resistance to UV fading) far exceeding that of ordinary dyeing. It retains its color even after prolonged exposure to sunlight. This is one of the details used to determine whether a Cordura fabric is high-end.
